Ferencz Olivier at the Techno-Classica 2015

From 15th - 19th April 2015 I had the opportunity to present the first eight works of my project "Epochal Brands – Cars" to a larger audience for the first time. Because of my positive experiences at the world´s largest trade fair for classic cars and modern classics, the "Techno-Classica Essen" was on my exhibition-schedule for the third time.

This year over 190.000 visitors came to the 20 halls and 4 open-air exhibition areas in the 5 days of this year´s 27th Techno-Classica Essen 2015 in order to see the presentations of over 1250 exhibitors from more than 30 nations. From rare road cruisers to historical racing cars and ageing city cars everything could be found and partly bought here. The organizer estimated the overall value of the 2000 classics offered to around half a billion Euros, not including the showpieces of about 25 companies from the car industry.

The brands that I have painted, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Benz, Porsche, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Maserati and Alfa-Romeo were all present with own stalls on the trade fair area and showed their automobile jewels and motorsport-veterans. Maserati for example presented a Tipo 151 racing car from 1965, built for the 24-hours-race in Le Mans. With its V8 engine and 450 horsepowers and only 860 kilos it was able to reach a top speed of 320 km/h on the Hunaudieres-straight.

A further highlight at this year´s trade fair was the impressive stall of Mercedes-Benz where among others a selection of aerodynamic racing cars from the brand´s history were shown. For instance you could marvel at the record-car W 25 V12 that reached 370 km/h with its 570 horsepower output in 1936. Also the most valuable car of the exhibition could be found in the Mercedes-Benz Area. The 300 SLR with which the legendary British racing pilot Sir Stirling Moss victoriously took part in the Mille Miglia in 1955 is amounted to round about 40 million Euros.

During the whole time of the trade fair I delighted in the great interest of the visitors and got thoroughly positive feedback for my series “Epochal Brands – Cars“ in conversations with car-lovers, manufacturers and suppliers who visited my 35 sqm stall.

To conclude: the fascination and passion for classic cars and automobile dreams seems undiminished and proved this year´s Techno-Classica Essen to be a rewarding location for the exhibition premiere of my new projects.
