Project Racing Legends of the Past (Detail)

Here a detail of my current work as a foretaste to my new project.

For some time now, I have been dealing with the history of early racing in the first half of the last century.

This time was the genesis of classical circuits like the Targa Florio(Italy), the Mille Miglia (Italy), the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello (Italy), the Klausenpass Race (Switzerland), the Reims-Gueux (France), the Nürburgring (Germany), the Avus-Berlin (Germany), the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (USA), the Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), the Monaco Grand Prix (Monte Carlo), the Brooklands (Great Britain) and the Carrera Panamericana (Mexico).

The status of a racing legend has to be acquired and deserved over time. As far as traditional circuits are concerned, the triumphs and tragedies, as well as the charismatic pilots and first of all their legendary vehicles are the most important premises.

My attention is currently focussed on the classical Mille Miglia between 1927 and 1957 and the sports car brands of the “1000 Miles“ from Brescia via Rome and back. Among the participants of this classic of the long-distance road race are brands with great name like  Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, BMW, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, OM (Officine Meccaniche) and Porsche.

Most of these brands with their rich history still exist today, and just like the car models have evolved over the years, the powerful brand logos have been modernized and adjusted to the contemporary movements – an outstanding approach for my Logoart.
