Legends of motor sports »

The 24 hours of Le Mans are regarded as the hardest race in the world. On the traditional racing court the best drivers converge in order to prove their vehicles´ reliability and state of the art in a merciless crucial test. Because of the daredevil duels with dramatic climaxes the magical attraction of the Circuit d´Endurance de la Sarthe still persists today and fascinates racing fans worldwide. On this street circuit legends were born and racing history was written.

From the first holding of the Le Mans Series in the year 1923 till 1939 it were the successful models of the brands Chenard & Walcker, Bentley, Lorraine-Dietrich, Alfa-Romeo, Lagonda, Bugatti and Delahaye, which could place themselves firmly in the myth and history of the 24 Heures du Mans by at least one victory in the overall results. In the series of paintings of the overall winners in my project "Racing Legends - Le Mans" I will bring the history of these heroes of early racing sports back to life.
