Chapter 2 - Overall champions MPC from 1923 to 1939 »
The following chapter of my project "Racing Legends - Le Mans" deals with the overall winners whose car production is still continued: MPC. In the three sections of this artwork I am telling the glorious history of racing car brands that have lost nothing of their radiance over the years. Not only do we connect the models of these manufacturers with sportive successes of the past, moreover do their names stand for the highest art of engineering in the present, due to the power and beauty of their extraordinary cars.
Just like in the first chapter of the series I use high value materials like beaten gold, real silver and marble dust in an elaborate multi-layer painting with natural pigments on rough canvas. The relief-like structure of my works, with their stubbed surface, is telling a story and provides at the same time a unique snap-shot that touches the emotional memory.
