The epoch of motor sports had only just begun, when in 1881 Ettore Arco Isidoro was born into the artist family Bugatti. During his apprenticeship he developed his first motorized tricycle for the motorcycle and tricycle manufacturer Prinetti & Stucchi and took part in races thereafter. The participation in races made Bugatti famous and inspired him to new developments in his whole lifetime. The oval emblem with its stylise initials and the signature came into being in 1907, when Ettore worked for the gas engine factory Deutz in Cologne and single-handedly developed the model T 10, the prototype of the later T 13-Series. Type 13 Brescia models took part in the 24 Heures du Mans as early as 1923. The greatest achievements were made in 1937 and 1939 with the overall victory in a Type 57 C Tank.
