Under the name De Dietrich et Compagnie Eugène de Dietrich, together with his nephew Adrien de Turckheim, began producing vehicles in factories situated in Lunéville and Niederbronn in 1897. After giving up the company´s German part the name Lorraine-Dietrich with the double cross of Lorraine, the Croix de Lorraine, as their logo in 1905. In the 1920ies the leading engineer Marius Barbarou developed a six-cylinder car whose sport version caused a furore in the years to come. With the Lorraine-Dietrich B3-6 Model the company driver André Rossignol could win the 24-hours-race of Le Mans twice in a row from 1925. In the race of 1926 even a triple victory was achieved.
