Overall champions - Section Alfa-Romeo »

Founded in 1910, the company Società Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, short A.L.F.A., began building racing cars in their main production facility in Portello as early as in 1913. Under the name Alfa Milano and Alfa-Romeo Milano respectively, named after the Naples-born engineer and director Nicola Romeo, the model series 6C, 8C and Tipo B (P3), which all went down in history, were built from 1925 onwards.

The year 1928 heralded the victorious era of the Lombardic car manufacturer in the Mille Miglia. In the following 20 years the vehicles of the Milan manufacturer, with few exceptions, dominated the thousand miles until 1947.
