Ferencz Olivier, 2024

Space-Art

"The year is 2100. The first manned flight of the spacecraft Crew Dragon of the space company SpaceX, with the mission name SpaceX Demo-2, launched on May 30, 2020, is now 80 years ago. The first test flight of the Starship large rocket project dates back 77 years and the goal of flying the first manned mission to Mars was successfully carried out by SpaceX in 2028. Today, over a million people live on Mars and the colony is continually growing.

This is roughly what a retrospective of the milestones of SpaceX space travel could sound like in 76 years.

For Ferencz Olivier, a childhood dream that would come true. Science fiction novels were one of his favorite reads in his youth and if he had been equipped with a little more talent, then his dream of becoming an astronaut would have had a perspective.

The central work of art "Starship 28" from the Space Art category shows how two manned rockets fly to Mars at the same time and the picture was taken from the viewing direction of the Viewing Gallery. The Viewing Gallery is located at the top of the spacecraft and has a criss-cross window frame design to ensure sufficient stability for the interplanetary flights. The number 28 stands for the year 2028, when the first Starship landed on Mars. The visions Elon Musk once formulated were painted like graffiti on the window frames of Starship 28 as a reminder and have now come true.

In addition, space art mainly deals with the previous and future mission and starship emblems (logos) that will be issued up to the first manned trip to Mars.
